Steps to Activate this app

Follow steps to activate this app (Same in both the Android and iOS).

1. Download Google Pay app on your phone and open it.
2. Select the language you want to use.
3. Enter your mobile number in the given box.
   Note : The mobile number must be same as registered with your bank account.
4. Allow Permissions to access some services.
5. Add your Google Account.
6. The app will automatically verify your number using OTP.
7. Now either use your phone’s default screen lock (PIN, Pattern or Fingerprint) or create a 4 digit Google PIN to unlock the app.
8. confirm it once.
9. As soon as you confirm the PIN or screen lock, the activation of this app finishes.
10. Add your bank account with it and enjoy making digital payments.

How to Use Google Pay App

Just like BHIM app, Google Pay uses your bank account to make and receive payments. Hence, you first need to add your bank account in it. Make sure that mobile banking is enabled in your account. Because UPI is based on mobile banking and uses the mobile number to connect with your account. Below are the steps to add a bank account in this app.

How to Add Bank Accounts

1. Launch Google pay app and log in.
2. Tap on Add bank account below your name.
3. Choose the bank from the list.
4. Select the SIM registered with selected bank account.
5. Now, it will automatically authenticate your mobile number. Message charge is 1.50 that will be charged from your SIM balance.
6. Now, select your bank account you wish to add.
7. Generate/Enter your 4 digit UPI PIN to add the account.
   NOTE : If you haven’t yet set a UPI PIN for this account, you can set using your debit card details. Just enter last six digits of your debit card number and expiry date. After that enter the OTP you received on your phone. And then you can set a new UPI PIN for the account.
8. Enjoy the app.

How to Make Payments using Google Pay

In this app, you can make payments using various channels.

1. UPI ID, mobile number and account number and IFSC.
2. You can also use Bharat QR code to make payments. It also has a unique ‘Cash Mode‘ feature for making and receiving payments. This feature doesn’t require you to share your details with anyone.
